We are committed to protecting the oceans – today, for tomorrow.

What we do

In addition to our own projects, we support activists and small local organisations that are uncompromisingly committed to protecting and preserving our oceans and whose efforts achieve tangible changes.

Why we are acting

Every year, millions of tons of plastic end up in our oceans. We know what that means: marine animals die agonizing deaths, entire species disappear – and ultimately, microplastics end up in our drinking water, our food, and our bodies. Despite this, we continue to produce and consume ever more plastic.

We act as if we had a second planet.

Ghost nets, bottom trawls, and lost fishing gear become deadly traps, costing the lives of millions of animals. Marine resources are exploited as if they were inexhaustible. Overfishing, bycatch, and illegal fishing are tearing a hole in the ocean's balance that will be almost impossible to repair.

Oil drilling, resource extraction, and intensive agriculture are destroying unique habitats that have developed over millennia. Pollutants and toxic wastewater enter the oceans via rivers every day. And while we look away, the seas are losing their ability to heal themselves.

At the same time, we are heating them up through climate change . Coral reefs are dying, extreme weather events are increasing, and storms and floods are becoming ever more severe. Millions of people are losing their livelihoods – and many will be forced to leave their homes in the coming years. The crisis of the oceans is also our own crisis.

Mass tourism also contributes to this: beaches, mangrove forests and underwater worlds are disappearing bit by bit.

Light and noise pollute the seas and coasts, causing hundreds of thousands of animals to suffer and die every year.

But it doesn't have to stay that way.
We can change course: through our decisions, our consumption, our actions.
Every change counts.
If we take action now, we will not only save the oceans, but also our own future and that of our children.
The oceans belong to us all – let's take responsibility.
